TRAVELING AUTOMOTIVE/DIESEL TECHNICIAN

About the Position 

As a Traveling Automotive Technician with Vehicle Services, you will need to be able to travel 75% of the time. You will help maintain and repair gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles, to ensure readiness & safety. Other major job duties include:

  • Maintain daily work schedule as outlined by your manager/team lead.
  • Communicate regularly with management on the progress of the project and any problems encountered.
  • Perform vehicle maintenance, repairs, and other job duties in the shop as needed.
  • “Home base” is Columbia, South Carolina

Qualifications of Traveling Technician

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair (preferred)
  •  Class B CDL with passenger endorsement required (or expected within 3 months of hire)
  • State inspection license (if required)
  •  ASE Certification preferred. Must participate in ASE testing program (expected to have 6 ASE
  • within 6 months of hire)
  • Ability to travel 75% of the time (3 weeks out of the month)
  • Must live near a major airport 
  • Subject to DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
