Training Supervisor

First Transit is looking for a Training Supervisor in Baltimore, Maryland. Our training supervisors are an integral part of daily operations. Training Supervisors implements First Transit’s safety program, hiring process and training program to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment. Our Training Supervisors are responsible for:

  • Implement the safety policies and procedures in compliance with corporate, local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
  • Coordinate programs to new employees in work site safety practices
  • Review accident causes and hazards to health and recommend corrective action as necessary
  • Inspection of locations to detect existing or potential accidents and health hazards, recommends corrective or preventative measures where indicated.
  • Provide resources to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions.  Prepares and arranges safety messages and material for display to locations
  • Investigation of accidents and injuries and participates in the process as needed
  • Compile and submits accident reports required by corporate and regulatory agencies
  • Assist the STM in the Administration of the workers compensation program and drug/alcohol program for the company
  • Coordinate and oversee the hiring process for all new employees at the location, to include the issuance of their airport badge
  • Maintain complete and correct collision, injury and incident files for the location
  • Conduct and conduct any required retraining of existing employees as directed by the General Manager
  • Coordinate and conduct the training of all new employees
  • Attend all required safety meetings and work with the STM in submitting the required paperwork in a timely manner
  • Participate in the Be Safe program and participate in weekly debriefs.


To qualify as a Training Supervisor, you’ll need:

  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • Class “B” CDL with passenger endorsement and a minimum of 3 years CDL driving experience.
  • Minimum 2 – 3 years’ experience behind the wheel of a bus
  • Proven experience in training adult students
  • Ability to supervise and train company personnel, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling objectives
  • Proven evidence of building solid relationships with superior’s peers and subordinates
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Demonstrated abilities to build and continuously motivate highly effective teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
