Training Center Manager

About the Position 

 The Training Center Manager will oversee the Region’s training centers and to ensure following best practices vigorously and
collaborating with each other. Recruitment and retention are the key areas of this role to help all
locations around the region.

Training Center Manager Responsibilities: 

  •  Runs recruiting workshops in all Area markets. Conducts follow-up meetings to assess progress. Ensures that plans are in place and that best practices are employed across the region.
  • Manages driver hiring and training programs. Trains drivers, driver instructors, Location Managers, Location Safety Managers, and/or other location employees with respect to driver hiring, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Interviews driver candidates and selects drivers, based on LM approval and/or supervises employees performing this function.
  • Designs and/or delivers training to drivers. Training may include classroom, skills, or on-the-road formats and/or supervising employees engaged in this function.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and Company policy. 
  • Other duties as required.

Training Center Manager Qualifications:  

  •  High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 4 to 6 years of previous transportation safety management experience or related experience.
  • 2 to 4 years of training experience
  • Knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations regarding safety and environmental issues
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Good verbal, written, and relational communication skills, with the ability to appropriately interact with employees of all levels including drivers, customers, senior management, client representatives, union officials, and the general public
  • Fluent in English.
  • Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Possess a working vehicle to travel within the service area as needed.
