About the Position 

Become a part of our First Transit team as an IT Manager, at our RPTA location in Tempe, AZ. This position assists the efficient and effective operation of the company’s/division network, workstations, servers, databases, telecom equipment, and peripherals; manages monitors, and performs diagnostic to server and infrastructure application problems.   If you have the drive, confidence, and determination to succeed, we are looking for you!

  • Reviews, monitors, and controls all network activities and resource monitoring. Manage daily operations and assist and recommend future infrastructure upgrades. Maintain an inventory of computer equipment.
  • Manages the development, testing, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, upgrades, and support of IT systems, including data centers, databases, servers, operating systems, and associated hardware.
  • Recommends purchase of equipment and supplies to meet operational requirements of the business.
  • Maintains asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment.
  • Conduct stakeholder meetings to gather requirements, propose technology plans, advise, and communicate the progress of ongoing projects and initiatives.
  • Serve as a technology subject matter expert for Trapeze Software including scheduling, dispatching, and reporting tools.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to staff by answering their questions & resolving help desk requests.
  • Work with software vendors to support business requirements.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications 

  • 1-3 years of IT experience, within the Transportation industry, is preferred. 
  • 3-5 years of IT experience is required. 
  • 2 years of supervisory experience is required.
  • Prior use of Hastus software is preferred. 
  • Strong technical knowledge of network and server operating systems.
  • Experience with support of Windows Operating Systems, SQL Server, and Active Directory.
  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning, development, and operations.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and practices.
  •  Strong leadership skills.
  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation.
  • Microsoft and/or Unix certifications are strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Trapeze software or other scheduling software including database maintenance and
    administration.
