As a Hybrid Remote Transportation Review Unit Specialist you will handles inbound calls according to the Operations and Procedures Manual and the Senior CSR Duties Manual.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Validate appointments with medical providers to ensure the request is for a covered service under the member’s health plan, appointment information is accurate, and the level of service is appropriate.
  • Validate appointments with medical providers to ensure the member attended the appointment and received covered services
  • Research system to determine member’s Medicaid eligibility.
  • Determine if other means of transportation are available such as cost-free transportation and public transit
  • Communicate with Medical Providers and Transportation Providers regarding services and current procedural terminologies (CPT codes, HCPCS, diagnostics, etc.)
  • Review claims to ensure all information is accurate and complete and input information into the system
  • Perform initial review of supporting documentation to ensure information is sufficient to approve service
  • Sorts, distributes, and stores all incoming correspondence
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail
  • Additional duties as needed

Minimum Education, Experience & Skills Required:

  • High school diploma or GED required, some college preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years data entry experience
  • Prior claims review or medical billing experienced preferred
  • Ability to perform a high volume of data entry work with speed and accuracy; minimum 45 wpm
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet quotas and deadlines
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Computer proficient with the ability to learn new systems and tasks
  • Ability to multitask and transition quickly between tasks

Physical Requirements

Must be able to move about the office and between floors; utilize standard office equipment; access filing system/cabinets; and communicate effectively and efficiently in person and by telephone.  Ability to sit for prolonged hours, office type call center environment.
