About the Position 

 Join First Transit as an HR Specialist in Anaheim, CA! This position will provide administrative support to the HR manager. This role will focus on safe working conditions and proactive return to work programs in compliance with required legislation and Corporate Health and Safety policy. Support the corporate HR department in implementing and administering employee policies.

  •  Liaison with location management and regional HR and management teams, providing guidance with respect to pre-employment record checks, onboarding, and contractual requirements when appropriate or as needed.
  • Identifies business unit training needs, facilitates and maintains pre-employment screening and onboarding training material (i.e., Ban the Box updates, hiring standards, Form I-9/E-verify management, etc.)
  • HRS will help coach on compliance issues and company standards.
  • HRS ensures that hiring standards align with federal, state, location, and/or contractual standards and are administered within FGA and legal guidelines. Ensure adjudication is recorded appropriately.
  • Responsible for daily review and audit of completed pre-employment screening, and appeal process adverse action/appeal process is appropriately managed.
  • Quality Assurance checks the monthly new hire, transfer, and termination payroll records to ensure compliance with all background checks, drug and alcohol, and E-Verify requirements.
  • Work with appropriate personnel in regard to employee relation issues (i.e., conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations, provide written feedback, summary, recommendations, and analysis to management).
  • Support and assistance for regional staff during job fairs, new business start-ups, etc.
  • These duties may be altered to suit the needs of the company as needed.

 Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associates degree required
  • 1-3 years of HR (human resources) experience
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as general computer skills
