Fire Rescue Mechanic - Orlando International Airport



First Vehicle Services is now hiring a Fire Rescue Mechanic for our shop serving Orlando International Airport!

About the Fire Rescue Mechanic Position 

As a Diesel Mechanic with First Vehicle Services, you will help maintain and repair Dump trucks, tractors, loaders, pickups, sedans, buses, fire trucks, heavy equipment, and generators to ensure equipment and vehicle readiness & safety. Other major job duties include:

  • Take the lead on preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
  • Diagnose and perform all vehicle and equipment repair phases, including brakes, suspensions, engines, drivetrains, transmissions, and other repairs.
  • Ensure work orders are completed accurately.
  • Assist with road calls and emergency services as necessary.

Qualifications for the Fire Rescue Mechanicn

  • A valid CDL B driver’s license is required.
  • 5+ years of hands-on EVT Master level experience is required.
  • Technological and electrical skills and experience repairing and maintaining specialized equipment found in ambulances, fire trucks, and other emergency vehicles.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and problem-solving ability
  • Possess a mechanic’s tool set
  • The highest preference is given to ASE or EVT Certifications, up to and including Master Mechanics. Employees shall ensure all required EVT Master level Certifications are maintained while employed.
  • Subject to DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
