Drive Cam Supervisor

Job Purpose

Serves as First Line supervisors for Drivers, customer response, driver field evaluation and accident 
first-responders. The Street Supervisors' day-to-day duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Reporting in verbal and written form 
  • Investigating operator driving behaviors and customer service issues
  • Vehicle Operator preparedness, performance and driving habits 
  • Vehicle Operator adherence to safety requirements 
  • Vehicle functionality, cleanliness and inspection of equipment 
  • Vehicle operator courtesy to patrons and customer service skills 
  • Monitor locations and trips with high levels of complaints or operational concern 
  • Monitoring other activities that may result in substandard performance or 
    noncompliance with the client contract. 
  • Special Events support 
  • Attendance at client meetings and support as needed
  • Other activities as assigned where a business need is urgent

Drive Cam Supervisor major responsibilities: 

  • Assist with vehicle pull-outs and pull-ins. 
  • Takes responsibility for day to day coaching and counseling and evaluation. Reports to local management issues or concerns to management. 
  • Conducts on-the-scene accident investigation; assists drivers in preparing accident reports, OSHA reports and safety violation documents. 
  • Delivers driver training and safety courses; trains new drivers and retrains those involved in accidents in case where the supervisor is certified as a BTW trainer and on an as needed basis.
  • Observes and drives on the road, and corrects safety problems on the scene while documenting violations. 
  • Liaison between drivers and both clients and organization in customer service issues. 
  • Evaluates and monitors driver safety and performance. 
  • Assists Safety Manager with DOT/FTA compliance regarding drug testing and recordkeeping (post accident testing, random or reasonable suspicion). 
  • Work cooperatively with other QA and Service Delivery Contractor. 
  • Meets all driver qualifications at location. 
  • Responds to Emergency situations handled per policy and with proper notification and documentation. 
    • Assist with monitoring drivers to ensure on-time performance, productivity, and compliance based on internal and client policies. 

Safety Manager requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  •  Supervisory experience with hourly employees, with 2-3 years of transit supervisory experience 
    preferred
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiar with basic vehicle mechanical processes and maintenance
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Excellent verbal, written and relational communication skills, with ability to appropriately interact 
    with employees of all levels including drivers, customers, senior management, client 
    representatives, union officials and general public; fluent in English
  • Human resources and training experience
  • Work extended hours regularly, including Saturday
  • Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Possess working vehicle to travel with in service area as needed
  • Essential Job Functions:
    • Use of full ranges of hearing, speech and vision
    • Use of fingers (manual dexterity) handling paperwork
    • Stoop, crouch, squat or kneel when performing inspections of any type
    • Bend at knee, hip, waist when performing duties
    • Stand while performing inspections and platform training
    • Be subject to wet, cold or hot environmental conditions
    • Write reports in a coherent, legible way
