Dispatch Supervisor

First Transit is looking for Dispatch Supervisors to provide day-to-day supervision to schedulers in the Transportation Department. Our Dispatch Supervisors works closely with the General Manager to ensure trips are distributed efficiently and in a timely manner. Ensures Dispatchers have the tools they need to perform. Monitors provider performance and handles real-time complaints. If you have the drive, confidence, and determination to succeed, First Transit is looking for you!

Job Purpose 

To provide day to day supervision to the operation department. Manage filed service to our client and provide quality customer and transportation service

Our Dispatch Supervisors are responsible for:

  • Provide adequate work schedules to ensure all aspects of the department are covered with skilled staff and relate to the Operations Manager.
  • Identify and respond to service issues in a timely matter and report to the Operations Manager any concerns that need to be addressed with the Service Provider.
  • Adhere to written policies and procedures and report any discrepancies and procedures to the Operations Manager.
  • Relay to the Operations Manager any service levels that may hinder reaching productivity/On time goals.  This would include identifying areas where there is too much/too little service during certain time periods of the day.
  • Be able to work independently and can make decisions on the spot that will keep the client happy.
  • Manages emergency situations for vehicle operators; act as liaison between the carrier and emergency services.
  • Supervise daily service by reviewing route performance and proactively responding to situations that impact customer service.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

To qualify as a Dispatch Supervisor, you’ll need:

  • A high school diploma or GED (Some college preferred)
  • Must have a Class B CDL with P endorsements
  • Must be able to work Microsoft
  • Must be able to send and received emails
  • Must be able to type 35wpm
  • Ability to lead a team.
  • Exceptional Customer service Skills.
  • Ability to successfully negotiate.
  • Excellent multi-tasking ability and possess excellent time management skills.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours.
  • Prefer one-year supervisory experience.
