About the Diesel Mechanic Position

As a diesel mechanic at First, you would perform routine maintenance and repairs on International CE bus Maxx Force 7, Cummins 6.7, GM 3500 6.0L gas engine Allison transmission-equipped school buses for Hammonton, Waterford, Cherry Hill, Vorhees, Lindenwold, and Lenape Regional School Districts.

• Lead preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections.
• Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair, including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, & transmissions.
• Ensure work orders are completed accurately.
• Assist with mobile emergency services.

Diesel Mechanic Qualifications

• Class B CDL with passenger endorsement required (or expected within 3 months of hire) - We train! 
• ASE Certification preferred. Must participate in ASE testing program within 1 year (expected to have 3 ASE within 12 months of hire)
• At least 3 years of automotive or diesel maintenance & repair experience or technical school education
• Possess a mechanic’s tool set
• Willingness to participate in the ASE certification program. Training, testing, and bonuses are provided!
• Subject to a drug test.
