About the Position

Join First Transit as a Staff Accountant in St. Paul, MN. Our Accountants prepare basic financial reports under minimal supervision. They also help assist in the day-to-day maintenance of complete and accurate payroll processing and general ledger accruals. More details are below, as well as our pay range for this position. 

• Review revenue invoices for all region locations for accuracy of rates and units billed.
• Understand, review, train, and assist with multiple monthly reconciliations due from all locations.
• Understand and assist all locations with interpreting contracts based on payroll and PTO.
• Prepares month-end journal entries for revenue detail, payroll balancing, wage accruals, and expenses.
• Have informed knowledge of HR functions associated with employee benefits.
• Analyzes financial reports and records to prepare adjustments to income statements based on actuals. 
• Assist with the preparation of customer billing for transportation services. 
• Consolidate and report the company's finances to management regarding monthly explanations of budgeted vs. actual results variances.
• Our pay range for this position is 63-75K.

Qualifications 

• Associate's Degree in Accounting required.
• 0-2 years of experience in accounting is required.
• Knowledge of accounting practices and procedures.
• Experience with MS Office products and accounting software preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
